Blog #1: My favorite restaurant
Hello everyone! I'm Keiichi, and I'll introduce one of my favorite restaurants.
These days I love to go to "Tokyo Chikara-meshi". This is a Japanese Gyudon restaurant, but a bit different from an usual Gyudon restaurant in Japan.
When we cook Gyudon, we'll put sliced bees, sliced onions and some Shirataki (noodles made from starch) into a pot, then boil them up with Gyudon sauce (made mainly from soy sauce and other Japanese spices), finally we put them on a cup of rice.
However Gyudon in there is called "Yaki-gyudon", which is meta-phrased "boiled beef on rice" in English. It tastes richer and more spicy than usual Gyudon, plus the smell of soy sauce and garlic always makes me hungry!!
Although it is absolutely high-calorie food, I always order tokumori-size one when I go there, so of course it always makes my stomach full and also makes me happy! When you eat high-calorie but tasty food, you feel kind of guilty and excited, aren't you?
Someone who feels hungry should go there for lunch or dinner tomorrow!
Good night!

I've never thought you like this kind of dishes! haha I thought you like Italian or French.
ReplyDeleteI also feel guilty after eating high calorie food.....
Sayuri
I think "Matsuya" is the best gyudon restaurant becasue the price is really cheap and all of menu have miso-soup! Don't you think so, Keiichi? haha
ReplyDeleteTakuya
I've never been there. I've never been to Matsuya, either! I should definitely go both of them! I really understand the feeling of guilty when you eat this kind of fat things. I sometimes suddenly crave for french fries without any reasons, even though I know how bad for the health it is…
ReplyDeleteI like gyudon but I have thought that Sukiya is the best gyudon restraunt so far.
ReplyDeleteHowever I'd like to go to the gyudon restaurant you recommend!
Hi, this is Ms. MacGregor. I have never eaten gyudon in a restaurant, but the way you describe this makes me very very interested in trying it! How much does your huge sized one cost? If you get super full, don't you feel uncomfortable? When I eat out, I always eat more than when I am at home. Maybe because someone else has cooked it for me, and also I take more time to eat when I am eating out.
ReplyDeleteI had a good bowl of sanuki udon the other day at the udon shop inside Ebisu station (Yamanote line). I ate niku udon - it was amazingly good. The amount was not very big, so I was not very full, but it was really tasty. If you are in a hurry and want a quick meal though, I recommend it.
Thank you for your comment!
DeleteThat gyudon has 4 size, usual size, double-meat usual size, big size, and vey big size (Tokumori-size!!). If you order usual size, it costs only 280 yen!
Tokumori-size is not too big to eat, but the taste is so rich that the Gyudon must make you full!!
If you want to make your stomach full physically, I recommend you "Suta-don".
This is also Gyudon shop but in this shop you can eat many types of Gyudon which makes your stomach full.
I mean Gyudons in this shop are all richer than Tokyo-Chikara-meshi, and the size is very very huge!!
The shop is locaetd at Ikebukuro, Takadanobaba,Shinjuku, and somewhere else around the Yamanote-line.
Let's try them!
