Blog #1: Annular solar eclipse

Good morning, everybody! I'm Makiko. Did you guys watch the annular solar eclipse this morning? I did. (Of course you did as well, right?) I watched with my family on the rooftop of our house. My father was so excited about it that he took a paid day-off for it!
At the beginning of the eclipse, it was clouded, but the period when the sun looks like a ring -it was about 4 minutes,- there are no clouds on the sun! It was like a magic. I am very happy to see the rare phenomenon. This makes me think deeply about the mystery of the astronomy. And I think this was a great opportunity for children to be interested in nature.

This picture was a hot topic on Twitter after the eclipse so some of you might have seen it. Isn't it beautiful?

Here’s the interesting and important information for all of you bought the special glasses to see the sun...

DON’T THROW THE GLASSES AWAY!
YOU CAN USE THEM ON JUNE 6TH !

On June 6th, there is a rare astronomical phenomenon again. Venus will pass in front of the sun on that day. And this is actually much rarer than the annular solar eclipse.
Let’s enjoy this mysterious event with your “fashionable” solar glasses.

Blog #1: My favorite restaurant

Hello everyone! I'm Keiichi, and I'll introduce one of my favorite restaurants.
These days I love to go to "Tokyo Chikara-meshi". This is a Japanese Gyudon restaurant, but a bit different from an usual Gyudon restaurant in Japan.
When we cook Gyudon, we'll put sliced bees, sliced onions and some Shirataki (noodles made from starch) into a pot, then boil them up with Gyudon sauce (made mainly from soy sauce and other Japanese spices), finally we put them on a cup of rice.
However Gyudon in there is called "Yaki-gyudon", which is meta-phrased "boiled beef on rice" in English. It tastes richer and more spicy than usual Gyudon, plus the smell of soy sauce and garlic always makes me hungry!!
Although it is absolutely high-calorie food, I always order tokumori-size one when I go there, so of course it always makes my stomach full and also makes me happy! When you eat high-calorie but tasty food, you feel kind of guilty and excited, aren't you?
Someone who feels hungry should go there for lunch or dinner tomorrow!
Good night!

Blog #1: My favorite place

Hi! I'm Yu!
Today, I'd like to introduce my favorite place!

I lived in Yokohama before I moved to Saitama which I live in now. So I often used to go to Minatomirai with my friend and so on. It is near the sea and there are meny places in which you can enjoy, so it is very excellent place in which you can take a walk. And at night, many buildings are lit up so you can see a beautiful night view in Minatomirai. I recommend that you go to Minatomirai with your boyfriend or girlfriend! Do you want to know why? Because there are many couples at night in Minatomirai and if you go there with your friend, especially only boys, you will feel ashamed!lol
I show you a picture which I took two months ago.

Blog #1: A game of field hockey

Hi! I'm Takuya! I will write about my Golden Week. The last day of Golden Week, I went to Tokyo University's sports ground to watch field hockey game because my younger students participated in this tournament so I wanted to cheer them. Field hockey is not so famous sports in Japan so you may not know it, but this is very popular sports especially in Europe. Japanese hockey team will participate in London Olympic so please watch their game if you are interested in it.
Anyway, my younger students were two years my junior in high school and now they are seniors of theri high school. In the last tournament, they lost so they could not participate in next big game. If they lost agin, this game would be the last for them. In short, it is retirement. I worried that they might be nervous and it would affect thier ability. However, they played well and become the champion! In addition, they can participate a much bigger game than this tournument. They looked really happy. I was also happy. I hope they will win the next game and participate in I.H(interhigh-school).

Blog #1: My favorite soccer team

Hi, I'm Sayuri. I would like to introduce a place which I went to during Golden Week.
I went to HITACHI ground to watch fotball game on the last day of Golden Week. I live in Kashiwa city in Chiba, so I am a suppoter of Kashiwa Reysol. Last year, Reysol won the J1 league. However they can't win the games easily in this season.... They couldn't win the game of that day...
There are 2 reasons why I cheer Kashiwa Reysol. First reason is their "teamwork". Though there were no famous players on this team, they became the champion of J1 league of 2011. Each abilities weren't stunning, but their teamwork was wonderful. (Now some of them became famous. ) Second reason is I love my hometown. Since I was born, I've lived in Kashiwa so I would like to cheer my hometown team.
They couldn't win the game easily in this year but I would like to support them!! If you like football, let's talk about it next week!
See you then.
